24 hour towing along the Parkway corridor in Irvington: the ramps, the exits and the first local street a car can reach
The Garden State Parkway runs through the middle of Irvington, with Exits 143 and 144 dropping traffic into town and Exit 142 just south for I-78. The streets on either side are where disabled cars end up after limping off, and where a tow truck near you can reach them.
Off the ramps and onto the side streets: towing along Irvington's Parkway corridor at night
Along the Parkway in Irvington we meet cars at the bottom of Exits 143 and 144 and on the local streets beside the highway; the shoulder itself belongs to the Authority's garages, and every trip we handle is $149 by phone or $129 when you book online.
The Parkway shoulder rule
On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price.
Limping off at Exit 143 or 144
If the car is still moving when something goes wrong, the best move is to take the next exit and stop on the first safe local street. Both Irvington exits put you on busy avenues quickly, so look for a side street or a lot. Then call with the exit number and the street you stopped on.
The I-78 link at Exit 142
Just south of town, Exit 142 connects the Parkway with I-78, and the interchange is fast and heavy with trucks at night. A car that stops on those ramps needs the Authority's garage if it is on Parkway property. Once it is off and on a local street, we take over at the same flat price.
Service streets beside the highway
The streets running alongside the Parkway are quiet at night, and cars that overheated or blew a tire often end up here. The driver needs the street name and nearest cross street, since these blocks can look alike in the dark. Keep the hazards on so he spots you from the corner.
Just got off the Parkway with a failing car? Stop on the first safe street and call with the exit number.
